My story

I've been interested in marketing for as long as I can remember. When I was young, I would organize and promote concerts for local bands in my area, including the two bands I played drums for (perks of being the event planner).


I consider one event as the moment I realized, "Hey, I'm not bad at this marketing thing."


In 2013, for the first time in the event's history, our annual hometown festival had cancelled the Sunday night social. Seeing the opportunity, I organized a social with only a week's notice, and raised enough money to pay for new jerseys for my rec hockey team.


The social is a big deal for the community. It's the one time each year people from all over find their way back home and celebrate their small-town roots.


By organizing and promoting the event, I was able to fill the void for the community and help myself at the same time. It was a win-win, which is how marketing should be.








I'm in the business of developing long lasting relationships.

I've worked for over ten years in marketing in various positions. During that time, I have developed several skills, including:

  • Graphic design (for print and digital media)
  • Web hosting and design
  • Content marketing (blogs/video)
  • Social media marketing
  • Email marketing
  • Google and Facebook advertising
  • Photography/videography




  • Bachelor's in Commerce double major in marketing, from the University of Manitoba Asper School of Business.

I would also like to reference the Everyone Hates Marketers Podcast. It's a bottomless treasure trove of marketing insights! Many of the books I read come from interviews I've listened to on this podcast.

This understanding has pulled me away from "shiny object syndrome," or chasing the latest marketing trend or tactic, and has allowed me to focus on marketing fundamentals -- evergreen strategies that have stood the test of time.


Instead of starting with tactics (i.e. You should post more on Instagram, run more Google ads, put up a billboard, make a website, spam your audience with pushy sales emails, etc.), I focus first on why you exist.


Essentially, it boils down to this. Small businesses like yours solve problems for customers in need of a solution, and my job is to use my knowledge and skill set to connect your business to the perfect customer and then, and only then, figure out what tactics will work best for you.
